Manufacturer, supplier and exporter of printing and converting machines NBG Printographic Machinery has diversified into machinery for packaging, labels, paper bags and converting related segments. The company will be promoting its products in the new segments at its stand Z44 during the upcoming Gulf Print & Pack 2022.
The company offers web offset (reel fed) printing machines for printing newspapers and books which is its core business activity with supplies to customers globally. In particular, the company is actively supplying its equipment in Middle East, West Asia and the African continent.
‘The African region is a growing market especially for books with increased emphasis on education,’ says Rahul Gupta, general manager – International Business, NBG Printographic.
The company now also offers narrow and wide web flexographic printing machines for labels, flexible packaging, paper bags and paper cups applications.
According to NBG, the market for paper based packaging and related products such as paper bags and paper cups are growing in the MEA and African regions. ‘With the governments banning plastic, there is a very good requirement for paper bags and that will result in the demand for our equipment,’ Gupta highlights.
There is an influx of new paper bag manufacturing companies in the Middle East. They are looking to invest in low cost and minimal technology equipment to serve their purpose, according to Gupta.
The company has already secured its first project for a printing machine for paper bags in the UAE. NBG will manufacture and install the equipment at the customer’s site and also provide technical support & training to the staff, as well. The project will be executed in the next few months and it should be in an advanced stage of production during May 2022.
Gupta adds that NBG products are readily accepted globally.  ‘Once we have one product installed in the region, it will help us to build & grow our presence in the market with time. We are trying to economize our products and make them affordable to reach out to the maximum possible end users / customers.’
NBG is a regular participant in exhibitions and has exhibited at GPP in the past.
‘These two years of lull has brought everything to a standstill in terms of promotional activities. It has been almost 25 months since we have traveled to Dubai or elsewhere and GPP is going to be a big gap filler for us to cover the time lost during the last two years. It will be an excellent opportunity for us to showcase to customers the complete product solutions for paper bags provided by us.
‘GPP will help us to launch our diversified range of products in a much better way. We would like to increase our business development activities through GPP,’ Gupta commented.
The company is looking forward to meeting relevant customers & their senior management from printing businesses in the North and East African regions and also prospective trading partners to expand its presence in the region.
‘We have good presence in Africa for certain product lines. Introducing new products lines will also impact our overall image & turnaround at GPP in terms of a wider customer base. When you have more products to offer, you are able to increase your customer base,’ he adds.
The company is targeting new customers entering the paper based packaging market.  As QSRs multiply & sustain globally, the demand for packaging will continue to remain with a steady rise. Gupta adds that digital print is also gaining popularity for creating value addition, catering to a wide range of applications.
